Travelled a bit again during the morning and after a lunch stop, came to the tiny village of Droupt Sainte Marie, not far from Arcis-sur-Aube. We've come to a 'France Passion' - for an annual subscription motorhomers can stay at any of these locations for a night for free. Over the years we have stayed on vineyards, farms, a museum, a brewery and other quite unique places. This one is called "La Laine de Quinet" and Madame keeps Angora Rabbits and Mohair Goats.

Once we had parked up and she had welcomed us profusely, she took us to the sheds housing her animals. I didn't have my camera with me, but the rabbits are huge balls of fluffy white fur. The goats have recently been shorn, so just have short curly coats at the moment. Madame explained that she breeds the animals, then they are sent to a 'factory' for shearing and the wool to be turned into yarn and dyed. The animals come back home for their wool to grow again in 6 months time and Madame gets knitting with the balls of wool! She took us into her little shop to see all the colourful balls of wool and the beautiful garments she's made. Later we had a walk through the village to the church and a stroll by the nearby canal.
We were very pleased to get a text from Peter around 9.30pm to say that the family had arrived safely in Barbados. We are sure they will have an amazing fortnight's holiday in the sun. (We are still not quite sure why our grandchildren turned down an apportunity to come camping with us in France!)Sunday 2nd April
After a very quiet night, Madame came out of their house to wish us bon route and we set off towards Troyes. We stopped off at the village boulangerie for our baguette and as Sunday is 'gateaux day', a couple of mille feuilles! (No calories because it's Sunday.)
Had lunch at a very pretty picnic spot and came to Camping Les Ceriselles at Vincelles, south of Auxerre, beside the Canal du Nivernais. Had a little look around this afternoon, but have relaxed the rest of the time. Plan to be more energetic tomorrow - the bikes are off the back of the van ready to go!
