How lovely to wake up to blue sky and the sun streaming in our roof window. We soon had the lunch packed up and the bikes all ready for the off. We went south along the Canal du Nivernais

and soon came to the village of Cravant.

We parked up the bikes in a car park, exchanged a bit of chat about the weather with a passing Madame, then set about exploring the village - with the help of geocaching. A cache called 'Cravant Discovered' gave co-ordinates for an ancient washhouse where we answered questions with numbers to create the co-ordinates for the next location, etc. etc., visiting a monument, a fountain,

a belfry, the church,

another washhouse along a pretty path outside the village,

ending up with co-ordinates for the final cache along a minor road that led back to Vincelles. We got back on the bikes to return home that way. Only trouble was that we couldn't work out where we had to look for the cache - oh dear, but it was a grand day out just the same!
Came back over the River Yonne at Vincelottes.

Today's 'interesting thing' was a notice in the car park in Cravent. The village obviously welcomes motorhomers, but the Mayor's message didn't translate too well. (See below, as it's difficult to read from photo)

"Our storekeepers contribute to the financing of equipments, who, we hope for it, give you whole satisfaction (area of draining in industrial park).
They would be happy to welcome you and to propose you their products the traceability of which demonstrates their membership in the soil.
We thank you for supporting their efforts to fight against the desertification of our rural zones.
The Mayor"
